Illegal Dumping is a major challenge facing Wingecarribee Council.
Illegal dumping is a major challenge facing Wingecarribee Council. In order to tackle this problem, Council have partnered with Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla Councils as well as National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Sydney Catchment Authority to form a regional illegal dumping squad (RID Squad) to solely focus and tackle the problem of illegal dumping.Specifically the RID Squad aims to:
- encourage a more strategic coordinated approach to dumping incidents
- investigate incidents and taking action against offenders
- organise clean-ups
- track down illegal landfills
- identify changes and trends in illegal dumping across a regional area
- deter and educate community members about illegal dumping.
If you see someone dumping illegally please take note of:
· Vehicle registration details
· Vehicle type and colour
· Date and time
· Location.
