GreenPower

Last modified: August 29, 2007 - 2:46 PM

Did you know household electricity accounts for 50% of electricity consumption in Australia?

Most of the energy we use at home does not come from a renewable source – it is predominantly from coal-fired power plants.   This type of energy adds greenhouse gases into the atmosphere which is warming our planet.   GreenPower is a very easy and relatively inexpensive way for us to lessen the impact we have on the environment.  GreenPower sources energy from renewable sources such as wind and solar.

You can purchase GreenPower through most energy providers.  Just ring the company who currently provides your electricity and ask about purchasing GreenPower. Or if you want to compare GreenPower Electricity products, before switching, Green Electricity Watch, a consortium of non governmental organisations, has ranked GreenPower electricity products, for 2006.

To find out more about GreenPower go to www.greenpower.gov.au and www.greenpower.nsw.gov.au.
