Under NSW legislation, Councils have the primary responsibility for the management of development within floodplains. To appropriately manage development, Council needs a strategic plan which considers the potential flood risks and balances these against the beneficial use of the floodplain by development.
Due to a number of flooding complaints from residents, Council employed consultants to undertake an overland flow study to identify the issues and suggest appropriate solutions to address them.
Council and its Floodplain Risk Management Advisory Committee resolved to place the draft report on Wembley Road and Farnborough Drive Catchments Overland Flow Study on public exhibition.
The draft Overland Flow Study report will be on public exhibition from Friday, 16 June 2017 - Monday, 17 July 2017 and can be viewed in person at Council's Civic Centre, Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale from 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday and at Council's libraries in Moss Vale, Bowral and Mittagong. The draft report can also be viewed online by clicking on the link below:
Submissions on the draft report must be received by Council no later than 4pm on Monday, 17 July 2017 and be made in writing to:
