Council operates a Family Day Care Scheme in the Wingecarribee Shire from a Co-ordination Unit situated in the East Bowral Community Centre, Boardman Rd. Bowral. Family Day Care provides care in a "home-based" setting by registered Carers. Carers are recruited and monitored by childcare professionals attached to the Co-ordination Unit. Care is provided in small groups and children enjoy the security of care in a familiar setting with only one adult Carer. The Scheme is fully accredited and is also bound by the Regulations of the NSW Department of Community Services. Parents who use Family Day Care are also eligible for Commonwealth Government Child Care Benefit (CCB). This is an excellent opportunity to earn a worthwhile income as a self employed person from the comfort of your own home. Carers and adult members of their household must agree to a complete background check, obtain First Aid qualifications and ensure their home meets all Regulatory as well as Scheme safety requirements.
