Wingecarribee, Our Home

Last modified: February 6, 2008 - 2:09 PM

Wingecarribee, our Home: A Geographical Interpretation of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales was published in 2006 by U3A -Southern Highlands Inc (part of the international University of the Third Age movement) with assistance from Wingecarribee Shire Council.

To make this book available to a wide audience it is available from Council's website.

The book describes the biophysical and socio-economic patterns across Wingecarribee Shire.  It puts these patterns into perspectives, such as through comparisons with New South Wales.  The book also explains these patterns using descriptive analyses and conclusions from other studies, as well as suggesting some issues that arise for planning and management.

The work is intended to be used as an authoritative reference.  It draws heavily on official data, but is not a statistical compendium.

Material from this book is reproduced here with permission from the author and the publisher. The material is copyright but may be copied freely with appropriate acknowledgement of the author and publisher.

Wingecarribee Shire Council accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of the material and does not necessarily endorse any interpretation or conclusions that might be drawn from the material.

In particular, Council advises that new and more recent material may become available in time.
